Lunchtime and losing my mind...

Lunch time at work, eating salad, listening to Empire and Star Wars soundtracks and what pops into my head...

Han Sheppard: Hey, Meredith, I'm only trying to help.

MRM: Would you please stop calling me that?

Han S: Sure, Rodney.

MRM: You make it so difficult sometimes.

Han S: I do, I really do. You could be a little nicer, though. Come on, admit it. Sometimes you think I'm alright.
 (John's drawl would be perfect for that line...)
            MRM: Occasionally, maybe... when you aren't acting like a scoundrel.

Han S: Scoundrel? Scoundrel? I like the sound of that. [Grabs and rubs Rodney's hand] 
(you can just see it can't you!!!)
             MRM: Stop that.

Han S: Stop what?

MRM [timidly] Stop that! My hands are dirty.

Han S: My hands are dirty too. What are you afraid of?

MRM:  Afraid?

Han S: You're trembling.

MRM: I'm not trembling.

Han S: [moving closer to Rodney] You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life.

MRM: I happen to like nice men. 
(We know Rodney, we know.)
             Han S: [moving closer still] I'm a nice man.

MRM: No you're not. You're—

[Sheppard begins to kiss Rodney]

Zelenka: [interrupting] Sir! Sir! I've isolated the reverse power flux coupling!

Han S: [annoyed] Thank you! Thank you very much!

Zelenka: Oh, you're perfectly welcome, sir.

[Rodney walks away.] 

*shakes head* 

I think I'm beyond help...

But it made me smile!

Oh, you made me smile at the memory of that scene. It used to be my favorite almost-love scene for a long time ever. I know my age is showing, but see if I care? I don't!

Also, your icon that you used renewed my (foolish, foolhardy, stupid) interest in writing the AU fic where Rodney's just finished his first Ph.D. and is going from California to Colorado for the second (or has finished the second and is going to Colorado to be part of the SGC) and John is transferring from his undergrad program to go into the Air Force Academy and Rodney refuses to fly or something so a mutual friend suggests that John and Rodney drive together and John (young flyboy-wannabe that he is) doesn't want to be stuck with a stodgy old professor (he saw the "Dr." in front of Rodney's name and assumed) but his father cut him off so he can't make it by himself and Rodney doesn't want to trust his life to some "know-nothing young idiot".

So John drives up to the hospital in his beat-up old car (someone would have to help pick which kind he would drive, 'cause I'm not a car person) and Rodney scoffs at the thing like the deathtrap that it is, and John takes one look at young!Rodney and falls maybe a little bit in love, but it's took cocksure to do more than drawl, and then they get lost and then they break down in the middle of the desert and there's the whole cliche of no parts until a week from Monday and Rodney mocks everyone and fixes the car for John, only he makes it three times as good and John falls all the way in love and then there's a hotel and .. yeah.

I may have first had the thought while watching When Harry Met Sally and may have thought about it too much a little since then. *shifty*

Now if only I could find a better, more talented writer to write it for me. I have all these ideas that end up half-finished because I'm not as good as I want to be for the sake of the story. And I know the point is to write so I get better, but... *frowns* Anyway. Maybe I should just give away my ideas. Is there a community for that?
