You may have guessed that I had a wonderful time at Meet The Hewletts. And this is going to be so much easier in bullet form...

The queueing never changes but it helps when the sun is out and you meet lovely people who know you from LJ and you've no idea who they are in RL... *waves at

[personal profile] the4tsand [personal profile] moonlettuce* . We so should have had suncream.

That you can have a fandom and canon based conversation, including slash, and people know what you are talking about. *waves at everyone there including [profile] orandream[personal profile] yavannauk  and [personal profile] in_vulnerable

People still recognise you from that con over 18 months ago... *waves at

[profile] looking4tarzanand [profile] beaniesheppard ,  [profile] moonglow11066 and [profile] sunglow66*

We were queuing from approx 8:30, some people were there before us. *cough* I did go out and check earlier but there was only me, the cleaners and some guy on the internet...

 I was awake!

There is something very satisfying about being in a room full of people watching an episode of your favourite show and all laughing shouting and "Awwwww"'ing at the same time. S5 spoiler so not telling. You could tell what 'ships people were into by the little "squee's" that happen throughout. Fair few McShep fans there I think.

There is also something very satisfying, when you're not the only one singing "Trying to Find Atlantis" at the top of your voice whilst watching the fanvids on the big screen... and you're not that into country or western.

Con dance songs were played so, of course, the die hards were con dancing in the aisles...

I missed some of the bits of the episodes as my number was called for my photo with Mr Hewlett. Didn't mind, honest! I must admit, he looked lovely in the suit he had on, with open neck white and blue striped shirt. The gang I was with kept pusing me to the front so in the end it was me first.

I said hello, shook hands and also said congratulations on Jane making an honest man of you. He smiled and said he wasn't sure who was making who honest.  I asked if I could have a hug for the photo, of course he said and gave me a great big hug. How happy was I!!!! People were asking me afterwards, "How did you get a hug?", my response "I asked nicely".

The talk is a bit of a blur and bits merge together so this is only what I remember...

David and Kate bickered, laughed and cracked jokes at each others expense through the entire thing. It was great.

There was a lot of talk about the wedding. How Baz was a little angel until they took him into the church or the vicar/priest came near him. Then he went all "aarrrgghhhh". David was making comments about looking for the three sixes on Baz's head.

They talked about the wedding cake, made by Crumbs, so the kids at the wedding could pick their own cake. They were all different flavours. Kate was saying that the top table was mainly Jane, David and a whole load of kids.

The priest sounded like a muppet David said, so we had muppet references throughout the talk. McKay and The Muppets! That he would probably be with Gonzo as one of the chickens, dressed in tinfoil.

Kate wouldn't sing the song that Jane had asked her to perform at the ceremony. David kept ribbing her about it and in the end Kate got her own back by saying how David was tearing up at every occasion, including her song.

David said Kate was looking for a rich english gent at the wedding. Kate's face was a picture as she responded with something like"...but they are all my relations too."

There was talk about Jason, dreadlocks and wigs. And Kate's crush on Jason by the sounds of it. She's quite happy when he doesn't have to wear a shirt in a scene. Naked scenes would be ok too from the sounds of it. Jason naked that is!

David commented that Jason is always listening to music and you think he's listening to you,or the director but he's actuallly got his earphones in ( difficult with dreads we found out ) and not listening to what's being said. Jason also has a tendancy to think that if there's a gap in the dialogue, he must have missed his line.

There was also talk about Joe turning up with his P90 ( related to S5 again so not telling) and David did another Joe impression. Joe had heard on the grapevine about David's funny story about Joe and the scripts from previous cons and was asking David about it.

Q&A - cannot remember all - laughing and giggling too much.

One person asked David to do a McKay line. I'm not too sure he wanted to, bit reluctant but then Kate went and got a small cuddley toy, lion I think, with wild Einstein/Zelenka hair and said " Look, pretend that's Zelenka!" We all creased up laughing. The Dr Fumbles McStupid line came out slightly different. Can't remember what it was, laughing too much.

edit: Dr Fumbles McFuzzybutt - thank you[profile] villainny!

One little girl, "with her own roadie" David said, as her dad was adjusting the mike for her, asked if they has used Rachel's baby for Teyla's baby. Big Awwww there. David was all "Rachel would not let me near her child" and proceeded to explain about the fake baby ( which could be dropped he said! ) and the teeny tiny 17 day old I think he said baby that was used in some of the shots.

She also asked if he still had the blow up Dalek, which he does and when he eventually gets a pool...

My turn next. Being the polite Yorkshire woman I am, and no one had said earlier, I did say thank you for coming and spending some time with us and that it was much appreciated. That got a good round of cheers and applause which I was pleased at. He should be on his honeymoon!!!!!

I said that you may not be aware that our own Dr Who, David Tennant, was tackling Hamlet this year and whilst not suggesting only Shakespeare, what other roles would they like to have a go at and what roles could they see each other playing.  They looked at each other and Kate came out with " Oh so now I can talk first with the difficult question!" Kate would like to do period stuff, like Sense and Sensability. I had to ask "Who would your Mr D'Arcy be?" I think it came out as a pick between Jason and Alan Rickman.

oh yes...

There had been talk about Harry Potter earlier as they said the great hall from their reception looked liked something from a Harry Potter novel. David said about being Dumbledore but then changed it to Snape. Can't get that picture out of my head now. No wig though, no wig.

Anywhos...

David, with a little prompting from the audience, came out with Dr Who. He made comments about the hair and DT being a bit young to play the role. That got some good natured boo'ing. They didn't really come out with roles they would like to see each other play but Kate did say she's like to write something for David to be in and David said he would like to be in it. And that was that.

There were more questions about jokes being played on set, Kate commenting on how David is always the first to point fingers when someone fluffs a line.

David kept wandering off track with "I'm Dr Who" and singing the theme music.

Whose idea was it to put Paul McGillion in drag for ADB! David said Paul was very happy, if not insistent, on wearing womens clothing.

David was asked if he'd ever dropped Baz. Had come close but no, I believe the answer was.

The last question, from a small boy who did call him Rodney (another big Aawwww), asked why his action figure looked more like Martin Gero!!!! I was laughing so much I can't remember what he said in response...

That's what I can remember so far. Got to get to it and start revising for the job interview tomorrow.

wish me luck!

x

ps - it's also great when you're watching Dr Who with a gang of friends and you're all laughing and OH'ing and OMG'ing at the same things all at the same time. I'm not as mad as my hubby thinks I am!

So glad you had a good time *spoken through greeted teeth of extreme jealousy*...

No, am really glad it went so well :) They both sound so adorable (I love the idea of them bickering).

Bestest luck with the job interview tomorrow! Will keep everything crossed (which could make driving interesting...).
